Dow Corning is currently experiencing serious supply disruptions due to declaration of Force Majeure for a surfactant used in Dow Corning HV-495 Emulsion and Dow Corning HV-496 Emulsion.
In light of this situation we have identified and evaluated an alternative grade of surfactant in these products. Pilot scale trials for both products have shown results to be equivalence and properties were confirmed to be within sales specifications. In addition, accelerated aging studies have shown no differences to the products made with the former surfactant.
Given these findings and the urgency of our supply situation we are proposing an emergency change to this alternative source of surfactant. This change will be effective immediately for Dow Corning HV-495 Emulsion and Dow Corning HV-496 Emulsion.
